Signed limited edition of the eleventh Bond novel, the only Bond title issued as a signed limited edition. Octavo, original publisher’s half vellum with gilt titles to the spine, top edge gilt, color frontispiece portrait of Fleming by Amherst Villiers. One of 250 numbered copies signed by the author, this is number 122. In fine condition with the original acetate in near fine condition. Housed in a custom velvet-lined clamshell box. An exceptional example.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is the eleventh novel in the James Bonds series and the first since the debut of the Bond film. It became "an immediate bestseller on both sides of the Atlantic" (Biondi & Pickard, 48). "By the time of publication, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service had received nearly a quarter more subscriptions than any previous Fleming novel" (Lycett, 419).
