The recipient, Larry McMurtry remains best known for his 1985 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Lonesome Dove which was adapted into a television miniseries that earned 18 Emmy Award nominations. McMurtry was also a prominent book collector and bookseller. In 1970 with two partners, he opened a book store in Georgetown, which he named Booked Up and 1988 he opened another Booked Up in Archer…

Octavo, bound in full crushed red morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised bands, double gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, gilt central vignette to the front panel, gilt turn-ins and inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. In fine condition. A beautiful example.
