First trade edition of Lewis Carroll’s game, with scarce original card and several original markers. Octavo, original publisher’s red cloth. Association copy, inscribed by Lewis Carroll to his nephew, on the half-title in purple ink in the year of publication, “Bertram J. Collingwood with the Author’s love Mar. 87.” The volume contains the original envelope containing the playing board, with six of the nine rare counters. In very good condition with some rubbing to the extremities. Uncommon signed and inscribed.

First Edition of Eleanor Roosevelt's A Trip to Washington with Bobby and Betty; Inscribed by Her to her Grandson

First edition of this early work by the First Lady. Octavo, original cloth. Association copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, “To Bill from his loving grandmere who is also the author Eleanor Roosevelt Xmas 1935.” The recipient was Roosevelt’s grandson William Donner Roosevelt, son of Elliot Roosevelt and grandson of the author Eleanor Roosevelt. A Trip to Washington with Bobby and Betty is one of the more uncommon books by Roosevelt, and one that is not often found signed or inscribed, especially with such a nice association. In near fine condition. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box.

Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the second free endpaper, “To S. D. Green with well best wishes of Ernest Seton-Thompson.” In very good condition.

First British edition of Sutherland and Bell’s classic children’s photobook. Octavo, original pictorial boards, illustrated. From the library of American photographer Marie Cosindas with a gift inscription to her on the front free endpaper. Marie Considas became best known for her evocative still life and color portraits. She was one of the first photographers to incorporate color photography into her work, which distinguished her from other photographers in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1962, Ansel Adams recommended Cosindas to Polaroid for their artist trial of their new instant-developing color film. She was the fifth woman to have a show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1966. In near fine condition.
