Yale: A Pictorial History.

BUSH, George H.W.; Reuben A. Holden.

Item Number: 18041

New Haven: Yale University Press, 1967.

First edition of this pictorial history of Yale College. Quarto, original cloth, illustrated. Signed by George H.W. Bush on the front free endpaper. Bush, the 41st President of the United States and a graduate of Yale College. While at Yale, he was enrolled in an accelerated program that allowed him to graduate in two and a half years, rather than four. He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was elected its president. He also captained the Yale baseball team, and as a left-handed first baseman, played in the first two College World Series. As the team captain, Bush met Babe Ruth before a game during his senior year. He graduated as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa from Yale in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Rare and desirable signed by George H.W. Bush.

Here is Yale, from its beginnings in a small Connecticut farmhouse to the great university it is today. Nowhere else has the panorama of Yale been so elegantly portrayed as in these photographs, prints and plans.
