Signed by the author on the front free endpaper, “With best wishes from the Author, Sincerely, Wilson Rawls.” Some rubbing to the cloth, reinforcement with tape to the endpaper in near fine price-clipped dust jacket. Jacket design by Reisie Lonette.

It was made into a 1974 film starring Stewart Petersen, James Whitmore, Beverly Garland, and Jack Ging. The film was remade in 2003 and starred Joseph Ashton, Dabney Coleman, Ned Beatty and Dave Matthews.
