First edition of early 19th century London topography expert David Hughson’s copiously illustrated work. Octavo, two volumes, bound in three quarters morocco over marbled boards with gilt tooling to the spine in seven compartments, raised bands, morocco spine labels lettered in gilt, illustrated with 96 copper engravings and 24 wood engravings by J. Greig, T. Higham and W. Wallis. J. C. Varrall, E.J. Roberts, W. Morland and C. J. M. Whichelo, folding engraved map to volume one. In near fine condition. Tasteful bookplate to the front free endpaper.

19th century topographer David Hughson produced several works describing the city of London based on "preambulations", or walks throughout the city. Walks Through London includes detailed histories and illustrations of the most prominent public buildings throughout London and the immediately surrounding suburbs including Westminster and Southwark.
