First separate American edition of Kipling’s story which first appeared in Traffics and Discoveries. Octavo, original cloth with gilt titles to the spine and pictorial onlay to the front panel, illustrated by F. H. Townsend, tissue-guarded frontispiece. In near fine condition.

Kipling was born in India, which inspired much of his work and his innovative stories for children have become timeless classics.
