First American edition of the author’s first novel. Octavo, original cloth. Inscribed by Albert Camus on the half title page. Near fine in a very good dust jacket with some rubbing to the extremities. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box. Uncommon signed and inscribed.

Through the story of an ordinary man unwittingly drawn into a senseless murder on an Algerian beach, Camus explored what he termed "the nakedness of man faced with the absurd." The Stranger remains one of the classic works of the twentieth century.
