First edition of Charteris’ classic Saint novel set in Miami. Octavo, original cloth. Presentation copy, lengthily inscribed by the author on the front free end paper, “For Virginia Chantry for lots of fun and searching times- with love Leslie Charteris. 18 April 42.” Charteris has added a stick figure drawing of The Saint. Near fine in a very good dust jacket with light rubbing and wear. Rare and desirable signed and inscribed by Charteris.

Charteris' mystery novel features his creation, Simon Templar, alias The Saint. The Saint in Miami was the first Saint novel published after the outbreak of World War ll and is the first of several stories pitting Templar against Nazi operatives. Beginning with this novel, Templar's adventures take place primarily in the United States, or North America. The next non-American Saint adventures would not be published until The Saint in Europe in 1953.
