First edition of Griswold’s novella depicting the experience of a salmon from life to death. Octavo, original boards engraved frontispiece. Inscribed by the author on the half-title page, “Merry Christmas, F. Gray Griswold.” In very good condition with some rubbing  and wear to the extremities. First editions are uncommon, especially signed.

American author and sportsman Frank Gray Griswold authored dozens of books with a particular focus on salmon fishing, many printed privately and distributed among his personal friends. Through the Memoirs of a Salmon, Griswold conveys the life experiences of a salmon, from birth through his voyage over the Cascadian river and to the sea.
