Rare first British edition of James Fenimore Cooper’s masterpiece. Octavo, 3 volumes, bound in contemporary three quarters calf over marbled boards, gilt titles and tooling to the spine, black spine labels, marbled endpapers. In near fine condition with some light rubbing, the text is remarkably clean.
