Small octavo, bound in three quarters morocco over marbled boards, gilt titles and tooling to the spine, raised bands, marbled endpapers. A nice example with noted provenance.

Nobbes' detailed work on the art of trolling includes poems and prose on the antiquity and invention of fishing, descriptions and rules of the instruments required of the pastime, and a brief account of the principle rivers in England. Special attention is paid to the nature and behavior of the pike, the baits for trolling, and how to preserve a river for trolling.
