Octavo, bound in full morocco by Bayntun-Riviere with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, double gilt ruling and cornerpieces to the front and rear panels, gilt turn-ins and inner dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, 8 illustrations in color including tissue-guarded frontispiece and numerous illustrations in text. In fine condition.
One of the leading literary figures during the Golden Age of British book illustration, Arthur Rackham's work is noted for its robust pen and ink drawings, which were combined with the use of watercolor, a technique he developed due to his background as a journalistic illustrator.
