Henry James was particularly interested in the short narrative form of fiction and produced dozens of what he called the "beautiful and blest nouvelle". Published in 1884, Tales of Three Cities in comprised of the three novellas Impressions of a Cousin, Lady Barberina, and A New England Winter.
