Rare early 18th century map of France and its surrounds by Dutch cartographer Frederik de Wit. One page, with detailed topographical details and hand-colored borders. Bearing the seal of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cambrai in the upper right corner. In very good condition.

At the height of the Dutch Golden age in 1654, Dutch cartographer and artist Frederik de Wit opened a printing office which soon became internationally renowned under the name "Witte Pascaert" (the White Chart). The first cartographic images de Wit published were city views and maps and he soon went on to publish full large-format folio atlases. Most special collections libraries, rare map libraries, and private collections hold copies of De Wit's atlases and maps including The Osher Map Library, Harvard Map Collection, Yale University Beinecke Library, and The Library of Congress.
