Set in a late 1980s Soviet Union, 'Polar Star' continues the story of now former Chief Investigator of the Moscow Town Prosecutor's Office, Arkady Renko, dismissed from his job after uncovering corruption in high places. In hiding from the KGB as a factory ship worker, Renko is forced to investigate the murder of a female crew member, the solution to which may place him in a worse spot than before.
