ROGERS, Samuel.

Item Number: 92529

London: Printed for T. Cadell and E. Moxon, 1834.

Finely bound example of the poems of English poet Samuel Rogers. Octavo, bound in full leather, gilt titles and tooling to the spine, burgundy spine label, rasied gilt bands, gilt ruled, marbled endpapers. In near fine condition with light rubbing to the extremities.

During his lifetime, English poet Samuel Rogers was one of the most celebrated poets in England, although his fame has now been eclipsed by his Romantic colleagues Lord Byron, William Wordsworth, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. A banker by trade, Rogers gained a reputation for his painstakingly polished verses which he took great time to produce.
