Published in 1929, Palm Beach Villas captures the most beautiful and iconic villas typical of the unique style that defines Palm Beach. Oscar G. Davies states in its foreword, the photographs were compiled "with the intention of bringing within the limits of a single volume, as near as possible, a complete picture of the beautiful homes in Palm Beach, the world famous winter resort." Davies' father and Palm Beach Villas' publisher, Col. R. O. Davies founded Palm Beach Life Magazine in 1907 shortly after buying the only previously existing newspaper in Palm Beach, The Palm Beach Daily News, with financial partner and fellow Palm Beach resident Henry Morrison Flagler.
