Rare signed example of the Pulitzer-Prize winning photograph taken by Joe Rosenthal on February 23rd, 1945 of the American flag being raised by six U.S. Marines atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima. Signed by three Medal of Honor recipients from the Battle of Iwo Jima: Hershel W. Williams, Jack H. Lucas, and George E. Wahlen. In fine condition. Matted and framed. The entire piece measures 17.5 inches by 15 inches.

First published in Sunday newspapers on February 25th 1945, Rosenthal's Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima became extremely popular and was immediately reprinted in thousands of publications. The only photograph to win the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in the same year as its publication, it has come to be regarded as one of the most significant and recognizable images of the World War II.
