First edition of this work published in celebration of the 300th Anniversary of the founding of Harvard College. Octavo, original cloth with gilt titles to the spine, gilt Harvard Shield to the front panel. Presentation copy, inscribed by Franklin D. Roosevelt on the front free endpaper, “For S.D. Green ’04 from Franklin Roosevelt ’04.” The recipient S.D. Green was classmate of Roosevelt’s at Harvard University and part of the graduating class of 1904. Roosevelt began his studies at Harvard University in September of 1900 where he devoted much of his efforts to his social life and found notable success at the university newspaper of which he soon became editor-in-chief. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Rare and desirable signed.

American statesman and political leader Franklin Delano Roosevelt served as the President of the United States from 1933 to 1945. A Democrat, he won a record four presidential elections and dominated his party after 1932 as a central figure in world events during the mid-20th century, leading the United States during a time of worldwide economic depression and war.
