Rare first edition of the collected letters of Princess Feodora of Leiningen, Queen Victoria’s half-sister. Octavo, original cloth. Presentation copy, inscribed by Queen Victoria on the half-title page in the year of publication, “To Arthur Phelps from Victoria Reg Sept. 5 1874.” Princess Feodora was Queen Victoria’s maternal half-sister, and lived with the young Victoria at Kensington palace. Twelve years younger than Feodora, Victoria was devoted to her elder sister, and they continued to correspond throughout their lives. In near fine condition with rubbing to the extremities. Rare.
