Rare original drawing of a golf putter and ball dated and signed by the “best golfer to occupy the Oval Office”, President John F. Kennedy. One page, drawn in graphite pencil on Air Force One letterhead, the drawing is initialed “J.F.K.” In near fine condition. Accompanied by a photograph of Kennedy playing golf. In near fine condition. From the collection of Kennedy’s longtime friend and colleague Michael J. Kirwan, a United States Democrat from Ohio who served as a Representative to the United States Congress for the 19th electoral district of Ohio from 1937 until his death in 1970. A unique piece, illustrating Kennedy’s passion for the game. Matted and framed. The entire piece measures 19.5 inches by 16.5 inches.

Considered by most accounts the "greatest golfer to occupy the Oval Office" and boasting a single-digit handicap, President John F. Kennedy would often fit speed rounds into his schedule while traveling the country. Known for his ability to pull off miraculous recovery shots, Kennedy earned a the reputation of a strong competitor early in his golfing career leading Harvard past Yale in a heavily contested collegiate golf match. The Kennedy family often played at Hyannisport and Palm Beach Golf Club and as President, JFK was often seen at Burning Tree Club and Chevy Chase Clubs in Maryland.
