Signed and dated by Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru 1957.” Accompanied by the original typed transmittal letter signed by Nehru, dated 21st June 1957 , and addressed to Mr. Tore Johansen which reads, ‘Dear friend, I have received you letter of the 20th June 1957 for which I thank you. I am sending you a photograph of mine. With all good wishes to you, “Yours sincerely Jawaharlal Nehru.”‘ In fine condition. The photograph measures 5.5 inches by 4.75 inches.

Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India and a central figure in Indian politics before and after independence. He emerged as the paramount leader of the Indian independence movement under the tutelage of Mahatma Gandhi and ruled India from its establishment as an independent nation in 1947 until his death in 1964. He is considered to be the architect of the modern Indian nation-state: a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic.
