18th century German philosopher, theologian, poet, and literary critic Johann Gottfried Herder was associated with with the Enlightenment, Sturm und Drang, and Weimar Classicism. He published dozens of volumes in both German and English including his Oriental Dialogues of 1787 and Ideas on the Philosophy of the History on Mankind (1784-91).
