Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third novel in the Harry Potter series. It went on to win the 1999 Whitbread Children's Book Award, the Bram Stoker Award, the 2000 Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel, and was short-listed for other awards, including the Hugo. It is the basis for the 2004 film directed by Alfonso Cuarón. It is the third installment in the Harry Potter film series and was written by Steve Kloves and produced by Chris Columbus (director of the first two installments), David Heyman, and Mark Radcliffe. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
