Small octavo, original cloth with gilt titular emblem to the front panel, with the rare original folding map of Florida engraved expressly for The Florida Guide by the publisher which is in fine condition, advertisements at rear. In very good condition. Scarce with no examples appearing at auction over the past 90 years.

The Guide to Florida contains a historic sketch of the history of the state from Spanish cavalier Juan Ponce de Leone's romantic search for the fountain of perpetual youth to the most agreeable regions for the pleasure seeker. Other areas covered include geographical, agricultural, and climatic statistics, routes of travel by land and sea, and other general information for the invalid, tourist , and emigrant.
