First edition, signed limited edition of this graphic novel depicting the legendary psychedelic rock band’s greatest hits and behind-the scene personal accounts. Quarto, original cloth with embossed silver deadhead skull and crossbones to the front panel, gilt titles to the spine, pictorial endpapers, illustrated by Tim Truman, Nina Paley, Frank Gresham, Wayno, Dan Steffan, Rand Holmes, Dan Burr, Fred Carlson, Mary Fleener, and Pat Redding. One of 500 numbered copies signed by Jerry Garcia on a tipped-in limitation plate, this is number 185. Fine in the original slipcase which is in fine condition. Rare.

Known for their eclectic style which fused elements of rock, folk, bluegrass and psychedelic rock, the Grateful Dead was founded in the San Francisco Bay Area amid the rise of the counterculture of the 1960s by Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir and came to be widely considered “the pioneering Godfathers of the jam band world” (Reebe, 219). This deluxe signed limited edition features interpretations of a selection of many of their greatest compositions including Truckin', Sugaree, Casey Jones, Dire Wolf, Tennessee Jed, and One More Saturday Night.
