Rare self-portrait sketched by the 34th president of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, during his presidency. One page, graphite, the portrait is dated 3-4-58. Eisenhower was an amateur painter, and often sketched during his White House years. He kept a studio on the second floor of the White House, and despite his busy schedule, painted as a pastime and means of relaxation. The portrait measures 2.75 inches by 5.5 inches. A unique piece of presidential history.

Dwight Eisenhower served as the 34th President of the United States from 1953 until 1961. He was a five-star general in the United States Army during World War II and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe. He was responsible for planning and supervising the invasion of North Africa in Operation Torch in 1942–43 and the successful invasion of France and Germany in 1944–45 from the Western Front. In 1951, he became the first Supreme Commander of NATO.
