Item Number: 96145

New York: Harper & Row , 1979.

First edition of Silverstein’s provocative illustrated work for adults. Quarto, original cloth, illustrated. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, “For Monika and Craig (originally ‘Crap’ which has been surreptitiously corrected) with Love Shel Silverstein.” Silverstein has added a large full-page drawing of a hand holding a pen which has written the inscription. Fine in a near fine price-clipped dust jacket.

In Different Dances, children's author Shel Silverstein turns his eye and pen upon the social calamities and absurdities of the adult world. Illustration titles include: The Quiet Man, Baby's First Words, Some Enchanted Evening, The Bank Robber, The Escape and To Please a Lady.
