American country music singer-songwriter Loretta Lynn has sold more than 45 million albums worldwide with multiple gold albums in a career spanning almost sixty years. Published in 1976, her best-selling autobiography, Coal Miner's Daughter, was made into an Academy Award–winning film of the same title in 1980, starring Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones, with Spacek winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Lynn.
