This is number 84. Presented by the collector to fellow bibliophile and book collector Paul Lemperly. Octavo, bound in full vellum, top edge gilt, engraved frontispiece portrait of Kipling, illustrated throughout with photographs. In near fine condition.

Philadelphia lawyer Ellis Ames Ballard acquired the most complete and extensive collection of Rudyard Kipling first editions, autograph letters, and manuscripts, many of which were later purchased by the Morgan Library.
