First edition of this business classic. Octavo, original half cloth, illustrated. Association copy, inscribed by co-author John Helyar on the half-title page in the month of publication, “To Aunt Winnie, Who will probably wonder how a kid from such a good family got mixed up with this bad crowd, but who I hope will enjoy the book anyway. Love, John 1/19/90.” Also laid into the book is an autographed letter signed to the same recipient, which reads, “Dear Winnie, Sorry to be so slow getting this to you. I hope you haven’t done anything rash, like going out and buying a copy. Also hope you can get through this, despite all the cussing. Love, John.” The recipient was the author’s maternal aunt. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket.
