Rare Rawlings Official Major League Baseball signed in full by the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama on the sweetspot. When Obama was still a U.S. Senator, he threw out the first pitch before the White Sox defeated the Angels 2-1 in Game 2 of the 2005 A.L.C.S. and in 2009, he became the fifth U.S. President to throw the first pitch at an All-Star Game, preceded by John F. Kennedy (1962 All-Star Game), Richard Nixon (1970 All-Star Game), Gerald Ford (1976 All-Star Game) and George H. Bush (1992 All-Star Game). He attended three other MLB games during his presidency, including the May 2016 exhibition game where the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Cuban National Team in Havana. He was, at the time, the first sitting president to visit Cuba since 1928. This ball was signed in New Hampshire in 2007 while still a candidate for president. In near fine condition.

Barack Obama served as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Obama was the first African-American president of the United States. He previously served as a U.S. senator from Illinois from 2005 to 2008 and as an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004. Obama signed many landmark bills into law during his first two years in office. The main reforms that were passed include the Affordable Care Act (commonly referred to as ACA or "Obamacare"), although without a public health insurance option, the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 served as economic stimuli amidst the Great Recession. During Obama's terms in office, the United States' reputation abroad, as well as the American economy, significantly improved. His presidency has generally been regarded favorably, and evaluations of his presidency among historians, political scientists, and the general public frequently place him among the upper tier of American presidents.
