Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to his publisher in the year of publication, “Dear Howard Thanks for your faith in this book and thanks for your friendship! Elia June ’78 P.S. I don’t think we should be giving books away, even to you! Oh well-.” The recipient, Howard Kaminsky was the former president and publisher of Warner Books, Random House and William Morrow/Avon. Among the authors he published were Elmore Leonard, E.L. Doctorow, Gore Vidal, David Halberstam and Richard Nixon. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Paul Bacon.
