Early printing of this collection of poems published in English and Spanish. Octavo, original wrappers. Association copy, inscribed by the author to friend and fellow writer Sergio Muñoz Bata, “A Sergio, con vivasimpatia, ser muco amigo, Octavio Paz.” Bata writes a weekly syndicated column published in 18 newspapers across 11 countries in the hemisphere. He is also both a former Los Angeles Times editorial board member and Executive Editor of La Opinión. In near fine condition. A wonderful association.

Octavio Paz Lozano was a Mexican writer, poet, and diplomat, and the winner of the 1982 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1990 Nobel Prize for Literature ("for impassioned writing with wide horizons, characterized by sensuous intelligence and humanistic integrity.") This book is a bilingual collection of Paz's poems. Throughout this book the poet's abiding concern for language as a living force is revealed.
