First complete edition of Coleman’s tribute to Alexander Hamilton, particularly concerning the details of the Burr-Hamilton duel. Octavo, bound in three quarter morocco over marbled boards with gilt titles and ruling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers, inserted portraits of Hamilton and Burr. In very good condition.
"This collection (edited by one of Hamilton's warmest friends and admirers, who aimed to make it a fitting monument to him) included nearly every thing relating to his death--eulogies, resolutions of various societies, newspaper testimonials, and much else that could otherwise be found only by a reference to the papers of the day" (Ford, 94).
