Presentation copy, inscribed by Friedrich August von Hayek on the front free endpaper, "To Ann, this book of her great uncle in admiration of her scientific achievements from her Grandfather Feb. 21, 1985." Born in Vienna, Nobel Prize-winning political philosopher Friedrich August von Hayek was the oldest of three brothers, Heinrich (1900–1969) and Erich (1904–1986), who were one-and-a-half and five years younger than him.
