The note accompanied an 18-page Astrological Horoscope report by Hollywood astrologer Carroll Righter which Dietrich arranged to have made for DiMaggio. Signed by Righter at the conclusion of the report and with an additional inscription by Dietrich which reads, “M. Righter does not know your name. If you should want to ask him anything specific you must refer to your birth date and place. M.” A close friend of DiMaggio’s, German-American actress Marlene Dietrich spent most of the 1950s to the 1970s touring the world as a marquee live-show performer. She received several honors from the United States, France, Belgium, and Israel and in 1999, the American Film Institute named Dietrich the ninth greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema. In fine condition. A unique association.

Together with “$25,000.00 REWARD”, 1 pp. typescript broadside issued by Colonel H. Norman Schwarzkopf, dated May 26, 1932, calling for “information which shall result in the apprehension and conviction of the kidnaper [sic] or kidnapers of Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr.” In 1932 Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr. was kidnapped from his family’s home in New Jersey. The “crime of the century” resulted in kidnapping being classified as a federal offence if the victim is taken across state lines. Introduction by Myron T. Herrick. An exceptional example, rare with the original letter.
