Rare Remington rolling block target pistol from the collection of General William T. Sherman preserved in his military trunk. Remington altered model 1871 with a 10 inch round barrel, approximately 32 caliber, and buckhorn sight. The pistol possibly dates from Sherman's time in Egypt when he was commissioned by Khedive Isma'il Pasha to reorganize and modernize the Egyptian military. In very good condition. The piece measures 14.5 inches.
