First edition of this work by the founder of The Kennedy Society of Denmark. Octavo, original cloth, illustrated. Association copy, lengthily inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, “Toreby Denmark February 2, 1982. Dear Mrs. Rose Kennedy, President John F. Kennedy cared so much for peace. Therefore I hope, you will find this commitment to keeping his ideals and visions alive – worth to share with your family and friends. Sincerely The author Svend Aage Nielsen.” The recipient, Rose Kennedy, was the matriarch of the Kennedy family: the wife of Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and mother of John F. Kennedy and his eight siblings. She was a devout catholic and deeply embedded in the “lace curtain” Irish American community in Boston. After her son John was elected president in 1960, Rose “became a sort of quiet celebrity” and appeared on the International Best Dressed List. Most of her social activities consisted of involvement in charities and women’s groups. Very good in a very good dust jacket. An exceptional association.

Original bird’s eye view diagram of Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas Texas with annotations detailing the assassination of John F. Kennedy by Deputy Sheriff Eugene Boone, the officer who recovered Lee Harvey Oswald’s rifle on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository after Kennedy’s assassination. One page, the map shows key locations in the assassination including the “Grassy Knoll” and “School Book Depository,” and traces the steps Boone took after shots rang out, with notes by Boone, He writes: “When shots were fired I ran from the front of the Sheriff’s Office to the freight yard looking for anything out of the normal” and “I later entered the School Book Depository and went to the 6th floor where I found Oswald’s rifle at 1:22 p.m. after the assassination.” In fine condition.

Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the half-title page, “To Allan Sherman with the sincere appreciation of his friend and admirer Pierre Salinger.” The recipient, Allan Sherman was actor, singer, producer and writer who became known as a song parodist in the early 1960s. His first album, My Son, the Folk Singer (1962), became the fastest-selling record album up to that time. His biggest hit was Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh, a comic novelty recording in which a boy describes his summer camp experiences to the tune of Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours. Fine in a fine slipcase, with the original wrap around band. Edited by Pierre Salinger and Sander Vanocur.
