BELLOW, Saul; Introduction by James Wood; Foreword by Janis Bellow.

Item Number: 187

New York: Viking Press, 2001.

Uncorrected Proof of the first edition of the author’s last collection of stories published during his lifetime. Octavo, original wrappers. Signed by both Saul Bellow and James Wood, who contributed the introduction. Fine in illustrated wrappers as issued. An uncommon proof, rare signed as Bellow was aged and did not do book signings at this point.

A collection of stories which includes: "The Bellarosa Collection", "A Theft", "Mosby's Memoirs", "Him with His Foot in His Mouth", and "Something to Remember Me By", among others. Saul Bellow is the only author to have received three National Book Awards, for The Adventures of Augie March, Herzog, and Mr. Sammler’s Planet, in addition to both the Pulitzer and Nobel prizes. The Sunday Times praised these achievements when it revered "Bellow’s oeuvre [as] both timeless and ruthlessly contemporary."
